The “PRocesses and STrategies for Senior Officers” course addresses and discusses the challenges faced in cybercrime units (backlog, budget constraints, complexity of investigations and capacity-building). It considers the requirements for conducting successful investigations efficiently, while focusing on key personnel, state-of-the-art technological solutions, external supports, and general legal/regulatory considerations.
The course content takes into account that, during the deployment, some variations may occur due to the national legislation. Lessons are intended to include practical examples – future iterations will include theory experiments and “discussion” workshop materials.
This action provides a training package that enables the national unit to identify potential solutions by examining processes and strategies, as well as how innovative approaches, such as the use of big data and artificial intelligence, can improve efficiency.
Target audience
The initial attendees of this course delivery are Heads of Digital Forensic or Cybercrime units and their deputies. The goal is to help them better understand the available technical solutions and opportunities, enabling them to make informed decisions in compliance with the national legal framework and directives.
