What personal data we collect and why we collect it ?
Contact and other forms
Forms may contain several fields, some being related with personal data. In any cases forms are forward to the ECTEG board for handling. If clearly specified on the form, the content may be forwarded to a partner organisation and this only in the frame of ECTEG aims on IT crime fighting capacity building. Depending the purpose of the form, data may be kept for the time of an activity.
If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
Anonymised statistical information are kept by ECTEG about website frequentation. Statistics may be forwarded to ECTEG members and to the funding entities.
Who we share your data with ?
Data are not shared if not otherwise specified. When shared a clear identification of the partner organisation with whom data are shared is stated and in any case the partner need to be GDPR compliant and use data within the ECTEG capacity building aims. Partners are not allowed to distribute transferred data or use if for any other purpose that the one stated in the ECTEG website.
How long we retain your data ?
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
Login tries and hacking tentatives traces are kept by ECTEG until the case is handled by judicial authorities.
What rights you have over your data ?
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

Your contact information are kept by ECTEG for further communication purpose and are not shared with other entities, unless you request it specifically.

ECTEG protect your data by a regular monitoring of the website security and use of encrypted storage.
What data breach procedures we have in place
In case of discovered data breach, you will be informed straight by ECTEG as the judicial authorities in Belgium (ECTEG legal seat) and France (ECTEG servers location).
What automated decision making and/or profiling we do with user data
There is NO profiling or automated decision with data. However, interactive forms may enable/disable fields based on other fields content.
