What personal data do we collect and why?

Contact and other forms

Forms may contain several fields, some being related with personal data. In all cases forms are forwarded to the ECTEG Board for handling. If clearly specified on the form, the content may be forwarded to a partner organisation (only in the framework of ECTEG aims on IT crime-fighting capacity building). Depending on the purpose of the form, data may be kept for the duration of an activity.

If you select “Remember Me”, your login will remain for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

Who do we share your data with?

Data are not shared if not otherwise specified. When shared, a clear identification of the partner organisation with whom data are shared is stated and in all cases the partner needs to be GDPR compliant and use data within the ECTEG capacity-building aims. Partners are not allowed to distribute transferred data or use it for any other purpose than the one stated in the ECTEG website.

How long do we retain your data?

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except changing their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
Login tries and hacking tentatives traces are kept by ECTEG until the case is handled by judicial authorities.

What rights do you have over your data?

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we have of you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where do we send your data?

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

Your contact information

Your contact information is kept by ECTEG for further communication purposes and is not shared with other entities, unless you request it specifically.

How do we protect your data?

ECTEG protects your data by regular monitoring of the website’s security and use of encrypted storage.

Data breach procedures in place
